Emotions:

Anxiety and emotional imbalances.

With anxiety and other heavy emotions, you may notice felling's of heaviness in your stomach or chest, feeling frozen, even stuck. With anxiety can come an array of symptoms, such as digestive imbalances, acid reflux, panic attacks, trouble sleeping and handling day to day tasks.

Understanding why you are feeling anxious can better assist in figuring out ways to balance emotions. What is the root of such discomfort? Are you having financial troubles? overwhelmed with work? Maybe there are things you have been holding onto from childhood or past experiences.

It seems that all emotional imbalances or discomfort have a root cause. Something may trigger an emotional response or anxiety to arise.

What can you do about it?

With certain calming herbs and essential oils, mindfulness practices such as mediation, yoga and qigong, we can become more present and at ease within ourselves. Making sure you eat a well-balanced meal can help you be more alert and aware of strong emotions and better handle anxiety when it arises. Getting enough fuel, sleep and movement is very beneficial, along with finding a craft or hobby to help shift the mind from anxious thoughts to a more peaceful, focused mind.

My personal experience...

Personally, anxiety has been a lifetime journey for me. You can be anxious or in an emotional space, yet you are not the anxiety nor the emotions. I can either get stuck in the anxiety or recognize it and let it go. It has taken me years to better understand where such anxious thoughts are stemming from. Through years of therapy and different calming herbs I have found a lot more peace with anxiety, although I still see it there and feel it. If I am not eating enough food or getting enough adequate fuel, I find I am more prone to anxious thoughts and feelings. If I am not getting enough sleep, meditating, or doing my mindfulness practices, I find myself more anxious, less present and not emotionally regulated. One thing that has shifted over the years is my awareness of such anxiety when it arises. I also no longer experience panic attacks as I once did.

Being conscious of imbalances and emotions as they arise, and wanting to live a more harmonious life, is a beautiful thing. I know changing anything that has resided within us for so long can feel uneasy and bring up a lot. I find that when anxiety is not present, I feel a lot better. It has been my baseline for so long that sometimes it feels foreign to feel more at ease.

We all have the ability to "heal" and find balance and harmony within. It is a journey that Nixme Wellness is here to assist you on.
